Civic Volunteer…Serving as a civic volunteer for many years, Luke gained valuable insight into the day-to-day operations of Kelowna’s municipal government.
  • Kasugai Sister City Representative: Luke is currently serving as the City of Kelowna representative on the Kasugai Sister City Association. Kelowna has two other Sister cities Veendam Holland and Senanga Zambia. These organizations promote friendship, culture, sports, education and commerce.
  • City of Kelowna Advisory Planning Commission (APC): (2005- 2008) In his role on the APC Luke participates in bi-weekly public hearings to review new re-zoning and development permit proposals. The APC provides recommendations of support, or non-support, to City Council on each new development proposal.
  • City of Kelowna Community Housing Needs Committee (Chairman 1996-2000) Advised City Council to Implement the Secondary Suite policy and establish the Affordable Housing Fund.
